What Is Lupin?

Lupin or lupini beans are the yellow legume seeds of the genus Lupinus. They are traditionally eaten as a pickled snack food, primarily in the Mediterranean basin, Latin America and North Africa. The bitter variety of the beans are high in alkaloids and are extremely bitter unless rinsed methodically.

What you may not realise is that lupin is not just a pickled snack food. Lupin is also a great natural filling for therapeutic heating and cooling bags.

Heat bags are a great, natural drug free solution to pain relief and are highly recommended by Doctors, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, remedial massage therapists and many medical professionals. However it can be difficult to tell the difference between the range of heat bags available. The main thing to consider is what’s inside them.

Live Well Health Essentials Lupin Hot and Cold bags are a deep soothing natural solution to aches and pains.

Why use Lupins?

  • They are odour free, chemical free, 30% lighter than wheat and retain their heat longer.
  • They don't sweat when heated in the microwave.
  • Lupin is a Gluten Free alternative to Wheat Bags.
  • You can also use them as a cold pack by storing them in the freezer in an air tight plastic bag.

Lupin seeds are related to the nut family so we recommend avoiding these products if you have a nut allergy.
